Web Designer - Temporary

Position Overview

Design and implement online materials that build and sustain the university brand across a variety of web properties. This position plays a leading role in determining the direction for web design for the university, while still collaborating with others in Marketing Communications.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conceptualize creative ideas for web design to determine visual branding for the university online
• Design, build, and update pages for the university's web properties that are visually appealing, easy-to-use, and on-brand using Cascade Server, WordPress, and other tools. This includes page templates and high-profile pages such as the homepage.
• Establish web design guidelines, standards, and best practices
• Design and build HTML emails and newsletters for different academic programs, departments and Marketing Communications
• Design and build creative for online display advertising using HTML5 and CSS3 animation
• Create and update non-georgefox.edu web properties for marketing and SEO purposes Ensure digital content works well on a variety of devices and browsers, especially mobile devices
• Make sure that imagery used on the website is up-to-date and shows a breadth of diversity
• Adhere to web accessibility standards and guidelines as much as possible Keep up on web design trends and technology to incorporate into the university's web properties
• Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and customer service
• By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role
• Demonstrate awareness, respect and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and work well with a variety of people Other duties as assigned
