Visit Coordinator

Purpose for the Position:

To ensure that the campus visit experience - from initial visit request to execution and evaluation connects our prospective students and families to the George Fox experience in engaging, memorable and authentic ways. To be a collaborative member of the Visits and Engagement Staff.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Arrange details of individual student visits to campus, including visits to classes, meetings with faculty, coaches and admissions counselors, campus tours, overnight accommodations etc. and provide communication with visitors, prior to, during and following up their visit
  • Keep visit record data up to date in admissions database
  • Be a collaborative member of the Visits and Engagement staff in accomplishing our mission of connecting our prospective students and families to the George Fox experience in engaging, memorable and authentic ways
  • Evaluate current visit practices in addition to researching, brainstorming, proposing and implementing enhancements to the program
  • Supervise one student intern to accomplish core Visit Coordinator responsibilities
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of on campus visits events and virtual engagement efforts in conjunction with the Visits and Engagement Team
  • Maintain Admissions Welcome Center including ordering and stocking visit supplies
  • Coordinate group campus visits
  • Provide second tier phone coverage and act as the Undergraduate Admissions Office primary front desk person
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service
  • By actions, words and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least two years previous office/clerical experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) required
  • Attentiveness to detail and accurate data required
  • Ability to work independently, and in a team,
  • Strong self-motivation, initiative and a desire to learn and grow
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the institution's goals, including signed agreement with GFU Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Statement
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on the telephone, and to understand and follow instructions
