POSITION OVERVIEW

George Fox University is looking for a photographer to take our visual brand to the next level, producing creative, compelling and high quality images to be used on social media, our website and our university magazine, in addition to a wide variety of print materials.

The ideal candidate will also have video production experience (about 25% of the job), with the ability to work independently to complete all phases of production, from planning and filming to editing. Another highly desired skill is proficiency in social media, especially Instagram. The position requires a unique combination of skills, but for the right person it could be a dream job, with several outlets to focus your creative energy.

An average day might include visiting an alumnus at their place of work for a photo shoot to be used on the cover of our university magazine; taking the perfect campus landscape photo and scheduling an Instagram post; setting up a studio shoot with one of our student-athletes for the next football billboard; coordinating with a professor to take classroom photos; and, during slower times (especially the summer months), filming and editing a short video featuring one of our exceptional students. Among the less exciting responsibilities are employee headshots, photo filing and editing, managing student photographers, consulting with internal clients about their photography needs, and lots of emails and phone calls to coordinate photo sessions with brand partners around campus.

Only applicants who provide a portfolio or link to their photography website will be considered. Candidates who also provide links to videos they produced and social media accounts they maintain will have the best chance of landing an interview.
