Purpose for the Position Purpose for the Position:  The Graduate Admissions Office is seeking a customer focused, sales oriented, and values driven Graduate Admissions Counselor to temporarily join our highly successful Admissions Team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to greatly impact the admissions experience for prospective students in the George Fox College of Education who are entering our Graduate School of Counseling and our Adult Degree programs.

 

You will promote the values and strengths of George Fox's business programs to potential students, building on a solid understanding of their goals and priorities in the market place.

Essential Responsibilities:.

  • Provide admissions and recruitment support for the Graduate School of Counseling and the Adult Degree programs.
  • Respond to prospective students in the inquiry and application phases, and help students complete their application.
  • Direct prospective students to appropriate student services including financial aid, registrar, and housing options.
  • Establish and maintain a dynamic, cooperative relationship with program directors and faculty in areas of assigned programs.
  • Prepare and organize graduate student credentials for program admissions committees.

                               

Qualifications:

  • One to two years professional experience; experience in sales/marketing or higher education admissions preferred.
  • Extremely strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability and willingness to travel on occasional or regular basis, including Oregon driver's license.
  • Proven ability to learn and use technology as required for the position, including the use of social media and university database.
  • Strong customer service orientation and understanding of needs of adult students.
  • Commitment to issues of ethnic and gender diversity.
  • An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the institution's goals, including signed agreement with GFU Statement of Faith and Statement of Community Responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
