Overview of the Position

George Fox University's Admissions team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual to serve as the Senior Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions. This is a crucial leadership position in the Enrollment and Marketing division, and the right individual will be interested in helping to lead a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative working environment laser focused on achieving positive results. As the Senior Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, your goal will be to successfully hire, train, and motivate our admissions recruitment team toward improving traditional undergraduate enrollment.

The Senior Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions oversees four admissions counselors, which are a team of committed and vibrant professionals who have had a track record of success. The ideal candidate will be ready to work with the team on engagement and sales techniques that move students toward enrollment.

The ideal candidate understands that great results come from teams who work in alignment toward a common goal. Therefore, our first priority is to hire a great leader, even if they have no direct admissions experience. It will be crucial for this position to engage with new ideas and partnerships that support our recruitment strategy. Identifying and building relationships with stakeholders in marketing, academics and alumni of George Fox will be crucial to the success of this position.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement a recruitment plan for the growth of the traditional undergraduate enrollment.
  • Motivate a team of Admissions Counselors toward recruitment goals for headcount and net revenue that are in line with the goals of George Fox University.
  • Create and uphold admissions standards that reflect the values and goals of George Fox University.
  • Hire, train, and coach the Undergraduate Admissions Counselors team with positivity, care, and goal orientation.
  • Research and implement compelling student engagement initiatives that improve yield and enrollment.
  • Be a collaborative member of the Enrollment and Marketing team in accomplishing the mission of George Fox University.
  • Manage the recruitment of an assigned geographic area and/or student group.
  • Travel as a GFU representative for approximately three weeks annually to manage assigned areas and/or provide support to other counselors.
  • Supervise an admissions intern (10 hours/week) to accomplish core Associate Director responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of increasing responsibility in College Admissions, Sales, Customer Service, Retail, or other customer-facing industries.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong goal setting skills and the ability to set objectives.
  • Prior management experience is preferred but not required. Ability to demonstrate leadership outside of a management position could also be considered.
  • Strong self-motivation, initiative and a desire to learn and grow.
  • A demonstrated ability to produce results within the context of a team environment.
  • Willingness to work cooperatively and constructively with a wide variety of people
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion and the ability to speak to changing demographics in the country and its effect on the recruitment of students.
  • Ability, willingness and availability to travel, including by car and airplane. Must have a valid Oregon driver license.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on telephone, and to understand and follow instructions
  • An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the institution's goals, including signed agreement with GFU Statement of Faith and GFU Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Statement
