Science Laboratory Coordinator

George Fox University seeks applicants with the motivation and ability to oversee the operations of the science teaching laboratories, laboratory safety, instrumentation, software and equipment. Candidates will be expected to work in the department of Biological and Molecular Sciences under the supervision of the department chair.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain laboratory equipment including state-of-the-art virtual reality 3D anatomy laboratory and appropriate laboratory supplies.
• The ability to work with living and preserved specimens including; cadavers, organs, tissues, cells and chemicals.

• Oversee department stockroom operations including ordering and maintaining chemicals, specimens, scientific models, instruments and other appropriate reagents and supplies.
• Active collaboration with science faculty to help prepare and reset laboratories.
• Assist with recruiting, training and supervising student laboratory teaching assistants.
• Help develop and maintain appropriate lab safety protocols.
• Participate in the work of the department and university including university committees as needed.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Proficient with both Mac and PC computer platforms, digital technologies, Google tools and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of basic lab equipment such as microscopes and measurement instrumentation.
• A commitment to working as vital part of the department team and with students.
• All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
• Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.
