Nursing Laboratory Assistant/Compliance Specialist

George Fox University announces staff position in the College of Nursing, to begin in July, 2021. This
position provides a wide variety of administrative support including coordination and implementation of
administrative, lab and simulation operations, and compliance-related functions for the clinical programs
and services of the College of Nursing (CON).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with lab and simulation operations including scheduling, inventory, ordering supplies and
    equipment, vendor relations, preventive maintenance, and uploading data into the electronic
    health record
  • Collects data for reports for state and national regulatory/accrediting bodies and clinical partners; Assists with reports for budgets, grants, compliance, clinical placement, and program evaluation
  • Assists with administering and maintaining compliance systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with OHA requirements, OSBN, CCNE, and clinical partners
  • Develops and maintains relationships with clinical partner student placement liaisons
  • Assists with nursing admissions processes, including Nursing CAS
  • Assists with supervising student employees
  • Provides event support and planning
  • Simultaneously does all of the following:
  • Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously, and provides follow through on issues
    in a timely manner
  • Supports day to day operations of the CON
  • Uses multiple technical applications including word processing, database management, spreadsheets, graphics, presentation software, electronic calendars, email, etc
  • Communicates effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, the public, and external customers
  • Maintains strict confidentiality
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, is a Christian role model to students, employees, and external customers
  • Demonstrates awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience as administrative support.
  • Proven record of successful collaboration with diverse partners at the institution and community levels.
  • Excellent professional interpersonal, organizational, time management and communication skills.
  • Experience with complex calendaring and scheduling in a health related field.
  • Demonstrated skills in team building and problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Prior experience in higher education health programs
