Job Purpose

We're hiring a self-motivated, fast-moving Marketing Program Manager with experience casting a strategic vision, managing a team, and delegating to colleagues and direct reports. As our program manager, you will lead the Marketing team through prioritization and nimble execution to ensure projects are delivered on time and produce desired results. You will work directly with internal George Fox departments to ensure their requested deliverables are solving business problems in a way that advances the mission of the university.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead a collaborative and iterative workflow process within the marketing communication department
  • Strategically lead a team, with two direct reports, toward successful outcomes
  • Strategically engage campus partners to determine project scope, prioritization based on brand impact, and reasonable communications timelines and deliverables
  • Develop project plans that clarify specific requirements of each project to be shared with clients as well as staff members assigned to the work
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-mission, on-time, within scope and within budget, reassigning resources as necessary
  • Pilot and manage the centralized internship program for the marketing team
  • Maintain a solid understanding of general marketing strategies and tactics across a variety of channels, understand how to leverage performance metrics, work with creative teams and other resources to accomplish marketing and university objectives
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Oversee budget tracking and analysis, in collaboration with marketing managers, including creation of purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with leadership on advertising campaigns and assist in execution.
  • Report/escalate to, and strategically partner with E&M senior leaders as needed
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrates awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.

Minimum Qualifications

A suitable candidate will have a background in marketing, management, and strategic analysis. He/she should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable managing multiple tasks with competing deadlines. This individual must work collaboratively within a team environment and must display a can-do and problem-solving aptitude.

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience with project management, planning or client relations
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills
  • Experience managing employees and/or teams
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with process improvement
