Executive Assistant to the Executive Dean, Cultural Enterprise

Start Date: Immediate Opening

.875 FTE here (40 hrs/week during academic year + 20 hrs/week in summer)

The Cultural Enterprise is home to the College of Humanities, the College of Education, the School of Theology, and the Honors Program – all uniquely positioned to shape the faith, character, and Christian worldview of our students. The Executive Assistant of the Cultural Enterprise (EA) does much more than apply his or her highly developed organizational and communication skills to streamline and improve the day-to-day activities of the Executive Dean of the Cultural Enterprise. The EA is also an integral part of strategizing, cultivating, networking, and implementing new models of learning and engagement with content, capitalizing on shifts in higher ed that call for stronger innovation and relevance. He or she is responsible for the important work of effectively communicating with external stakeholders, internal leaders, administrative staff, and university offices. The EA collaborates in the compilation and analysis of data related to program success, which serves to inform future planning and revisions. This person is a key member of the Enterprise team who conceptualizes, organizes, and hosts all Cultural Enterprise events, large and small. The EA is a diplomatic, mission driven, engaging, organized and detail-oriented person.


Responsibilities will be tailored to your strengths and will include:

  • Proactively assist the Executive Dean with administrative tasks for routine daily management of the Enterprise (e.g., scheduling, calendaring, email management).
  • Provide effective communication with external stakeholders, key internal leaders, faculty, and staff.
  • Liaise with university teams to coordinate first-rate production of everything from meeting presentations to digital podcasts to our Cultural Enterprise lecture series.
  • Independently organize logistics for meetings, events, and enterprise activities, including attendees, venues, equipment needs, catering, etc.
  • Provide project-based support for a variety of initiatives, including faculty contracts and reviews, general education assessment and data collection, budgeting, and grant management.
  • Assist in networking efforts, recruitment, fundraising, and strategic partnerships in local and national Christian communities.

KEY STRENGTHS:

  • Keen appreciation for the liberal arts, Christian thought, and the changing landscape of higher education.
  • Level-headed gatekeeper for scheduling, time management, and priority setting.
  • Strong writing and editing skills; background in marketing and graphics, preferred.
  • Project-based thinker – track and drive completion of key results, proactively following up on outstanding items as needed.
  • Conscientious budget and data manager, known for precision and reliability; experience in data analytics, preferred.
  • Known for high level of discretion and ability to keep a confidence.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred; some college with substantial professional administrative experience, considered.
  • Proven mastery of MS Office, Google Suite/Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Excellent organizational skills and eye for detail; innovative in seeking out new efficiencies for work systems.
  • Proven track record for event planning, hands-on preparation, promotion, and guest management.
  • In-depth understanding of numerous stakeholder relationships; higher ed experience, preferred.
  • Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the University's mission; active in a local church.
