Custodial Temp Worker

1. Job Description

                This position requires working with a team to maintain and clean the Newberg Campus.  This will involve routine daily cleaning of high use areas in public buildings, apartments and houses as well as the cleaning of residence halls daily during Summer Conferences. This includes intensive vacuuming, window cleaning, floor care, operating large custodial power equipment, moving and lifting of supplies and furniture, using various commercial chemicals in the cleaning process as well as deep cleaning.

Follow established safety procedures when using equipment and supplies, including the wearing of protective clothing/devices when performing tasks that necessitate the use of PPE. Report to your supervisor all hazardous conditions or equipment.

Maintain custodial closet(s) to ensure that they are clean and uncluttered. Clean and properly store equipment at the close of each shift.

Take security precautions as necessary.  If area is unoccupied by employees, close and lock all windows and doors as work is completed.

Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, other students and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.

Work involves a lot of repetitive motion in the hands, arms and shoulders for up to 8 hours while cleaning and vacuuming your assigned areas.

Must be able to lift at least 40lbs.        

Must be dependable, flexible and show initiative.

Have an interest in cleaning.

Full-time 40hrs. /week beginning Monday May 6th through Saturday August 24th 2019 

Specific working days are dependent upon Summer Conference Schedule and the specific team that you are assigned to; some Saturday and Sunday work will be required.

                 Working hours determined by the team you work with:

Monday Friday               6:00am - 2:45pm  

Tuesday Friday               8:00am - 5:00pm and Saturday 6:00am - 2:45pm
