Building Maintenance Tech 1

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an ambitious Building Maintenance Tech 1 to support university operations through inspections, plumbing, preventative maintenance and other assigned duties.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Follow up with maintenance requests, ensuring that all work is accomplished efficiently.
• Aid in implementing safety procedures for Building Systems and the larger Physical Plant Services.
• Support of other various university functions and repairs.
• Assists other departments as necessary.
• Perform routine Plumbing and drain clog repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance for example filter changing.
• Assists outside trade personnel with assigned work.
• Maintain the shop: clean shop, take inventory of shop and supply areas, pickup/return materials to supply houses, deliver materials to the job site.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with building trades.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance and basic plumbing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on telephone, and to understand and follow instructions.
• Training will be provided.
• An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the institution's goals, including signed agreement with GFU Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Statement and being in living agreement with same.
