Essential Responsibilities


Marketing content manager

  • Position George Fox as a university of choice and leader in higher education
  • Further develop and champion the George Fox portfolio of programs, devising and implementing strategies to strengthen enrollment efforts
  • Pioneer new ways to reach our target audiences that align with short-term and long-term marketing goals
  • Facilitate ongoing content planning, manage day-to-day content creation, editing and promotion, and report on the results of each content marketing initiative
  • Write or curate blog posts and email drip campaigns related to UG student life, admissions process, and other aspects of the college life cycle
  • Develop, execute and deliver compelling content across George Fox University's owned channels that elevates the brand and increases enrollment--including web content, blogs, email, video, print materials, Journal story leads, and ads
  • Regularly perform a content audit across programs for content gap analysis and planning
  • Provide marketing direction to admissions counselors
    • Communicate programs' value propositions in clear, compelling ways
    • Help programs identify the right message for the right audience
  • Offer strategic support for new and ongoing program initiatives, including competitive analysis
  • Promote consistency of marketing and branding efforts across programs
  • Collaborate with MarCom content and web teams on marketing deliverables
  • Provide input and recommendations for program advertising budgets
  • Serve as liaison between marketing and admissions teams
  • Manage the print renewal process, beginning with an evaluation of whether current pieces are the best format, then managing copy, design, photography processes for all pieces as a series
  • Manage list of photos and videos that need to be shot or updated
  • Conduct surveys, focus groups, and research that maintains a view into the hearts and minds of students
  • Work with our digital marketing manager, advising on strategy and creatives for our Big 5--Google, Microsoft, Facebook, LinkedIn, and AdRoll--plus radio, TV, print, out of home to create awareness of and interest in the university and all its diverse program offerings
  • Ensure brand consistency in advertising campaigns and content marketing materials

  • Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and customer service
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role
  • Demonstrate awareness, respect and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and work well with a variety of people
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, content generation, and/or marketing
  • Excellent storytelling and written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience creating and implementing successful marketing strategies
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills
  • College degree
