Purpose​ ​for​ ​the​ ​Position:​ ​​ ​To​ ​assist​ ​the​ ​head​ ​coach​ ​of​ ​the​ ​in​ ​intercollegiate​ ​athletic​ ​contests​ ​and
to​ ​administer​ ​supporting​ ​program​ ​for​ ​student​ ​athletes.


Essential​ ​responsibilities​ ​to​ ​assist​ ​Head​ ​Coach​ ​with:

1.​ ​​ ​Conducts​ ​program​ ​within​ ​stated​ ​philosophy​ ​and​ ​established​ ​guidelines​ ​set​ ​forth​ ​by​ ​George
Fox​ ​University​ ​and​ ​NCAA​ ​​ ​​ ​Division​ ​III.

2.​ ​​ ​Scheduling​ ​and​ ​conducting​ ​practice/training​ ​sessions.

2.​ ​​ ​Actively​ ​recruiting​ ​athletically​ ​and​ ​academically​ ​qualified​ ​student​ ​athletes.

3.​ ​​ ​Provides​ ​information​ ​essential​ ​to​ ​determining​ ​eligibility​ ​in​ ​a​ ​timely​ ​manner.

4.​ ​​ ​Hiring​ ​and​ ​supervising​ ​assistant​ ​coaches.

6.​ ​​ ​Maintaining​ ​NCAA​ ​conference​ ​and​ ​George​ ​Fox​ ​regulations.

5.​ ​​ ​Budget​ ​preparation​ ​and​ ​management;​ ​as​ ​well​ ​as​ ​some​ ​fund-raising.

6.​ ​​ ​Communicate​ ​effectively​ ​and​ ​courteously​ ​with​ ​others,​ ​including​ ​employees,​ ​students​ ​and​ ​the
public,​ ​in​ ​a​ ​spirit​ ​of​ ​teamwork,​ ​respect​ ​and​ ​customer​ ​service.

7.​ ​​ ​By​ ​actions,​ ​words​ ​and​ ​lifestyle,​ ​be​ ​a​ ​Christian​ ​role​ ​model​ ​to​ ​students,​ ​whether​ ​through
casual​ ​contact​ ​or​ ​in​ ​a​ ​formal​ ​supervisory​ ​role.

8.​ ​​ ​Demonstrates​ ​awareness,​ ​respect​ ​and​ ​appreciation​ ​for​ ​diversity​ ​of​ ​culture,​ ​background,
race,​ ​sex,​ ​political​ ​views,​ ​expressions​ ​of​ ​faith,​ ​etc.​ ​and​ ​works​ ​well​ ​with​ ​a​ ​variety​ ​of​ ​people.
