Purpose

To assist the head coach and given coordinator regarding training, practice, and games; to aid in the development of student-athletes academically, athletically, as productive citizens, and spiritually; and to engage in all recruiting efforts throughout the year.

Essential responsibilities:

1. Conducts program with stated philosophy and established guidelines set forth by George Fox University and NCAA Division III

1. Must have high morals/values, have a love for young people and a desire to develop them for productive adulthood, have a strong work ethic, and be team-first person.

1. Will be assigned a specific position (TBD) to coach and will lead that position relative to meetings, film analysis, playbook information, training, practices, games, academics, and team building activities. Will further be assigned special teams responsibilities.

1. Actively recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes following our full recruiting calendar (yearly).

1. Assist with eligibility requirements for our student-athletes.

1. Aid with some aspects of overall program management, budget, and fund raising.

1. Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including our other athletic coaches and teams, other employees outside of athletics, general student population, and the Newberg community/public in spirit of teamwork and respect.

1. By actions and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to our student-athletes.

1. Demonstrate awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, and expressions of faith. Portray a willingness and ability to work well with a variety of people.

1. Possess a strong desire to grow, develop, and be excellent within all coaching responsibilities and have tremendous loyalty towards George Fox Football.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

College playing, coaching, and recruiting experience preferred. Specifically, have been a college (lead) position coach preferred.
