Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer

George Fox University's Athletics department is looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as an Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer.

About the Job:

The Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer will be responsible for the management and administration of all
aspects of the Sports Medicine department within George Fox University Athletic Department. Also responsible for the
prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University's comprehensive sports medicine program.
This position involves weekend work for the majority of the academic year with scheduled days off during the week.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Primary and secondary sport coverage as assigned - 80%
➔ Provide emergency care, medical evaluations, treatment, and rehabilitation of GFU athletes under the supervision and
guidance of the team physician.
➔ Implementation of the policies and procedures as defined in the GFU Sports Medicine Policy and Procedure Manual.
➔ Assist in the daily operations of the treatment rooms including Saturdays and Sundays.
➔ Assist with the coordination and administration of pre-participation documentation.
➔ Supervise and oversee sports medicine work-study students.
➔ Assist the institution in hosting athletic events including oversight of environmental conditions and providing visiting team
athletic training services as needed.
➔ Responsible for implementation and rehearsal of health and safety best practices.
➔ Knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA Medical Advisory Board and the Northwest Conference.
2. Administrative Duties - 20%
➔ Maintain continuing education to meet BOC and Oregon State licensure requirements.
➔ Assist with the administrative responsibilities of budgeting, ordering, and inventory control.
➔ Organize and maintain medical records in accordance with federal and state regulations.
➔ Communicate with team physicians including appropriate medical referrals.

We're looking for candidates who have:

• Master's Degree
• Certifications/Licenses: Must be BOC certified and possess state athletic training licensure, certification or registration. NPI
  Number required.
• An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the institution's goals, including signed agreement with
  GFU Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Statement and being in living agreement with same.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, including on telephone, and to understand and follow
  instructions.
