Purpose of Position

This position is primarily responsible for business and accounting related tasks that bridge Student Accounts and Financial Affairs offices. These duties include but are not limited to, managing tuition and fee allocations and reallocations, student refunds and related federal compliance, bank-failed student account transactions, reconciliations, audits, batch uploads, general ledger related system set-up and related testing and implementations, running queries and delegating actions based on those reports.

Job Summary

The distribution of tuition income to the general ledger will allow the university to better evaluate and understand our income position and subsequently to make impactful and fiscally intentional decisions. This new initiative is complex and if not accurate or cohesively handled, data could be skewed and negative financial impacts could result. This position will also manage Title IV federal excess funds refunds and compliance. This responsibility influences our ability to continue to deliver federal aid, borrow funds, and other areas impacted by federal audit findings. Furthermore, each semester, delivery of funds to our students is critical to their livelihood.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage tuition allocation and reallocations, set up, test and implement.
  • Manage student refunds, payables, and related federal compliance requirements
  • Respond to and resolve student banking issues and direct deposit challenges.
  • Prepare for, lead, and respond to reconciliation and audit requirements.
  • Manage electronic payments (Payroll Deduction, ACH, IFT and bank wires.)
  • Batch departmental fees and fines, respond to inquiries about income

Associated Responsibilities

  • GL aspects of Item Type creation, combination edits and updates.
  • Oversee record retention and conversion to paperless records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve credit history discrepancies.
  • Assist the Director with filing and record keeping.

  • Title IV Refund Compliance
  • Manage, edit and schedule queries relating to audits and compliance.
  • Bank of America Single Point System
  • Batch uploads
  • Tuition allocation

 

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-4 Years of Experience Required
  • Part Time Position, Monday- Friday 8am-3pm
